In case you didn’t know, since I work from home, I did have to get some work done every morning UGH. I also had to train for AO2!!  While in Arizona, I had the pleasure of working out at Crossfit Can-Do. Everything in the gym looked brand new and the owner, Brandon, was very responsive and accommodating to my needs. If you’re in the area, check it out!

Weightlifting notes:

One good 35 snatch complex, one bad 35 complex. Saw that I was catching forward to cause the drops. Pulls felt great! Dropping at the top is nice and makes me reset before each pull. Squats were easy. Noticing huge difference when I lift with my butt vs quads.

When planning my road trip across the country, I knew that I ABSOLUTELY had to see the Grand Canyon. I didn’t care that it would involved driving two days in the wrong direction. It was massive. It was visually stunning. It was unlike anything I had ever seen before. It was worth it and if anyone tells you otherwise they are simply wrong, sorry not sorry.

I’m actually really glad Jay and I couldn’t go on Sunday because this Monday trip was pretty busy.  People travel from all over the world and it was cool to walk around and here the different languages being spoken. If you’ve ever been to a major touristy place like Paris or something you know what I mean. Or I guess the same kind of thing happens in Disney World too… Florida trip on the radar for October 2018? Who’s down?

There was no way I could go to this national treasure without taking yoga pictures.  I knew I wanted something that stood out in my portfolio but I didn’t think about how much I would stand out in the crowd. I figured the scenery would speak for itself. A lot of heads were turned as I swung from trees and turned upside down. Hopefully when those people talk about their trip they’ll mention the crazy fun yoga chick they saw 😛 I’m so excited to share the final copies with you all!!

Ya know, the park itself was larger than I expected. I didn’t think it was small by any means but I didn’t realize that there were restaurants and hotels and even a train station inside. Hopefully, I’ll get to come back one day and stay in the Historic Village.

Have you ever stayed or camped in the Grand Canyon? I’d love to hear about your experience. And did you know it was that big too?

After climbing on things and looking at things, we decided to head home and we saw this critter while exiting the park.

Working in the morning, working out in the afternoon and exploring in the evening usually works really well for me and another day at Crossfit Can-Do was well earned.

Exploration for the night was planned for Jerome, this cute town we had driven into on Saturday night, but the travel fates were against us. The entire town was shut down by 6PM on a Tuesday! Is that even legal?! Do people eat dinner at 4PM? I’m still confused about this. We did the best that we could and took some selfies while trying to decide if we wanted to drive back to Sedona for dinner.

We stayed local in Cottonwood for dinner and we were so pleased with dinner at Merkin Vineyards Osteria. The decor was unexpectedly modern with really neat light fixtures (I have a thing for light fixtures!!) and the food was phenomenal. I even splurged a bit and ordered the Tarzan & Jane wine tasting flight to go with our cheese and meat board! Don’t worry, I stopped at one flight because I indulged in cacio e pepe as well.
